Template talk:T
Let’s create error, warn, info, green permission, blue note, and … purple curiosity templates
[edit source]The ideal user experience should look like:
{{t}}: You remember that template family exists, so you include the T template, and it previews some help to navigate you through the template hierarchy. List templates, with some example border colors around the syntax literals that you could copy in{{t/info}}: Through parent, template, preview, or directly, you embed this template, it previews with a quick usage example, as follows…{{t/info/use}}: either /use, /invoke, /call, /do …/t is too cute, no.
The structure lets someone editing: quickly, preview, learn more and preview again, learn more and preview again.
Note, we either need to use t/end (or similar, t/div t/div/end) to insert the final </div>, or else allow people to pass arguments to the template.
Which is not a bad idea, it could support better syntax within the template, like a title, subtitle, maintainer/people to Notify, discord, link, etc., which could be extracted from Guild main page or other parts of the wiki that can function in effect as a database.
Try it out now! Do Edit Source on a page. Write {{t}} (note, we should make Template:Help and Template:howto as starter preview links). Then hit Show Preview. Iterate. Remove working progress (wip) templates before saving. (Note, we could embed WIP / wip-template category onto template previews for the ones not meant to be on final pages).
