Reigning in intro-as-headerbox -- & hero image (/info box) alongside intro

[edit source]

We make great use of template:headerboxes. We use them a bit in excess, as wrappers of introductory paragraphs, to call attention to basic facts that readers otherwise miss, or stumble over--but the use of these boxes also trains people out of searching for the information in the opening paragraph or paragraphs of other pages.

Let's make a subclass template of template:headerbox, perhaps template:introbox to serve as the highlighted summary at page-top, which would allow restyling and improvement of that headerbox use, separate from the navigation headerboxes.

Let's also think about infobox solutions, especially where we can embed, via template, the actionable summary info into other pages. mwe:Capiunto (and mwe:PortableInfobox) are mentioned on mw:Infobox for implementing infoboxes on a wiki. It also recommends mw:Extension:TemplateStyles, which may serve for us the wider purpose of styling templates.

Meeting creation workflow -- possible improvements

[edit source]

We could find the API endpoint to return the page wikitext, which we paste into riseup's etherpad, to start the meeting.

Returning a full page with the wikitext offers a simpler interface, especially for first-time meeting-runners. It also puts us further down the path of scripting or automating the meeting setup. (however, any automated setups should be careful to not overwrite pad modifications recently updated or not saved to the wiki, rather than wholesale overwriting without confirmation).
